THE ECOMMERCE REPORT

Guest post guidelines

We publish guest articles from people who actually do the work. If you have run the campaign, done the renovation, coached the team or shipped the product, we want to hear from you.

What we accept

What gets rejected immediately

The admin fee

Accepted guest posts carry a $250 admin fee. It is charged once we accept the article, never to read a pitch, and it is the same figure whether the piece runs with one link or none.

What the $250 covers:

Payable only after we accept the piece. Pitches cost nothing to send and nothing to have declined. The fee does not buy the link, does not buy an acceptance, and does not change a single editorial decision.

How to pitch

  1. Email [email protected] with the subject line Guest post: your headline.
  2. Give us the headline, three bullet points on what the article argues, and one line on why you are the person to write it.
  3. Link one thing you have written before. A rough draft is fine. A full draft is welcome but not required.
  4. Wait up to five business days. A no is a short no, not silence.

House rules once accepted

We edit for clarity, structure and house style, and we will change your headline. Facts are checked and anything we cannot verify comes out. You keep the byline and the credit. We keep the right to update the article later, and we will not sell links from inside it after publication.

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge for guest posts?
Yes. Accepted guest posts carry a $250 admin fee covering the editing, fact checking and publishing work set out above. It is not a payment for the link and it does not buy an acceptance. Pitches are read for free and most of what we decline never reaches the fee.
How long until it goes live?
Usually two to three weeks from accepted draft, because we schedule around the rest of the calendar.
Can I republish it on my own site later?
After 30 days, with a canonical tag pointing back to our version.
